Counselling on the Bellarine Peninsula

In November 2023 MGA Counselling opened in Point Lonsdale.

Point Lonsdale is split across two local government areas; Queenscliffe Borough and the shire of The City of Greater Geelong.
Located 5.4kms from Queenscliff and 29.8kms from Geelong (30 minutes drive by car), Point Lonsdale is serviced by bus route 56 – Geelong to Queenscliff.

Surrounding areas of bustling Ocean Grove, picturesque Barwon Heads, the growth corridors of Drysdale, Leopold, Clifton Springs and Curlewis plus bayside Portarlington, St Leonards and Indented Head are all within 20 minutes proximity by car to Kirk’s Place.

Kirk’s Place is a light-filled open space, formerly in the old Uniting Church building, with an array of community activities and events on offer. It has disability access, shared toilet facilities and waiting room seating available. The counselling room is immediately on your left as you enter the main doors of the building, ensuring private, confidential sessions in a warm and inviting Japanese inspired Zen decor, with natural light and ocean sounds filling the room.

There is an abundance of free off-street parking available.

The vegetable garden and large outdoor seating areas, central to Kirk’s Place community, offers a reflective space for before or after sessions.

If you prefer outdoor sessions Amanda can adapt Forest Therapy to the coastal trails and bayside or ocean beaches located 100 metres from MGA Point Lonsdale counselling space.

Note: On occasion Amanda may have Usko – her ‘in training’ junior Seeing Eye Dog (SED) male Golden Retriever working alongside in the sessions. This can be negotiated at the time of booking your appointment.

Why not make your counselling session into some extended self-care time and indulge in what the local cafe/restaurants have to offer.
The main street is only a 100 meter stroll, opposite the beach, which has the 5 star rated ‘Pico’ coffee available, ‘Grow’ offering fresh home cooked natural food, ‘Plated’ restaurant/bar or ‘Pasquini’s’ which all provide outdoor seating so you can breathe in the fresh sea air.
As the late afternoon draws near you will find locals vying for a ‘happy hour’ table at ‘Noble Rot’, offering a casual seaside wine bar with local and international wines and tapas style food.
