About Gail Ackroyd

Since 2014, Gail has been working in school-based wellbeing, offering both short- and long-term counselling for students. She facilitates group work and supports students and parents in navigating a wide range of issues. Passionate about working with adolescents and children, Gail believes that this stage of life is critical for therapeutic interventions that can help young people achieve their potential.

With ongoing training and lived experience, Gail brings a wealth of knowledge to supporting individuals of all ages—whether they are young people, women, or men. She has specialized training and a keen interest in areas such as trauma, grief, relationship breakdown, abuse recovery, and navigating religious trauma.

As a qualified Life Coach, Gail helps clients move past the obstacles holding them back, empowering them to pursue their hopes and dreams. She is also a certified Supervisor, offering professional supervision in both one-on-one and group settings.

Gail provides pre-marriage counselling using the Prepare and Enrich program, as well as couples counselling informed by the Gottman Method and other relationship-focused approaches.

In her therapeutic practice, Gail utilizes a variety of modalities, including Trauma-Informed Therapy, Somatic and Sensory Practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy, Group Work, Psychoeducation, Tree of Life, Narrative Therapy, and Coaching.

Gail operates from the Lilydale office on Wednesdays and the Croydon Hills office on Thursday evenings.
