About Gisela Lafico

Gisela Lafico is an integrative counsellor who provides a supportive, calm, and non-judgmental space for individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life. She offers sessions in both English and Spanish.

As your counsellor, Gisela tailors her approach to your unique needs, strengths, and challenges. She listens with compassion and respect, meeting you where you are, understanding your goals, and helping you work towards them. Gisela believes in the innate resilience and capacity for positive change in everyone, guiding you to live your best life.

Her counselling style is person-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive, drawing from evidence-based therapeutic methods. She may use Narrative Therapy to explore and make meaning of your story, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you align with your true self, and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to cultivate self-compassion and quiet your inner critic. Throughout the process, Gisela helps you develop emotional regulation tools and fosters deeper self-awareness.

Currently completing the final year of a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Gisela’s current research interests focus on the connections between attachment theory, affective and cognitive neuroscience.
