Online Counselling Sessions with MGA

The Halaxy Telehealth System

Using Halaxy Telehealth for Online Counselling

Welcome! We’re so glad you’ve chosen MGA Counselling Services for your telehealth counselling session. Whether you’re meeting with our director or one of the counselling team, the process is simple and straightforward. To ensure you’re fully prepared, follow these steps to access your Halaxy telehealth appointment smoothly.

Step 1: Check Your Appointment Details

Before your session, double-check the appointment confirmation email or SMS sent to you. This will contain your session date, time, and a link to access the telehealth appointment. The email will come from Halaxy, the secure platform we use to manage bookings and provide a secure video conferencing service.

Tip: Make sure the appointment time is correct in your local timezone, especially if you’re in a different area.

Step 2: Prepare Your Technology

To join the session, you’ll need a device with a camera and microphone, such as a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Most modern devices have these features built in. You’ll also need a stable internet connection. It’s a good idea to check these before your appointment to avoid any last-minute technical issues.

For the best experience, we recommend:
Browser: Use Chrome or Safari for the smoothest connection. Ensure your browser is up to date.
Internet:  A Wi-Fi connection is ideal, but if you’re using mobile data, try to be in a place with good reception.

Tip: If you’ve never used Halaxy’s telehealth platform before, you can do a test run by clicking on the link from your confirmation email ahead of time. This way, you can troubleshoot any potential issues before the session starts.

Step 3: Find a Private Space

Counselling sessions are personal, and having a quiet, private space is important to help you feel comfortable and safe during your appointment. Choose a room where you won’t be interrupted, and try to minimise any background noise or distractions. If possible, let others in your household know you’ll need some privacy.

Tip: Headphones can help improve audio quality and maintain confidentiality if you’re in a shared space.

Step 4: Join the Session

When it’s time for your appointment, locate the email or SMS containing the telehealth link. Click on the link, and your browser will open the telehealth page. You may be prompted to allow access to your camera and microphone—click “Allow” so your counsellor can see and hear you.

Once connected, you’ll enter the virtual waiting room until your counsellor joins. There’s nothing you need to do at this point except wait. If you’re having trouble connecting, try refreshing your browser or checking your internet connection.

Tip: If the page doesn’t load or you experience any issues, close the tab and click the link again. If you’re still having trouble, you can text your counsellor to let them know.

Step 5: Enjoy Your Session

Once your counsellor joins, the session will begin. This is your time to talk, reflect, and work together toward your goals. Your counsellor will guide the session just like they would in a face-to-face meeting.

Step 6: After Your Appointment

After the session, yyour payment will be processed and you will receive a receipt via email. If there is a problem processing your payemtn, you will receive an invoice and payment can be made through Halaxy using the link provided. If you have any issues or need to reschedule, feel free to contact MGA Counselling Services by phone or email.

We look forward to supporting you! If you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to make sure your experience is as smooth as possible.
